Associated Student Body

I.  All DeVry students are members of the Associated Student Body (ASB). Active discussion of ASB affairs shall be encouraged and protected in the organization.

II.  ASB members shall have the freedom of speech concerning the operations of the Association.

III.  ASB members shall have equal rights to apply for and hold office subject only to the constitutionally specified qualifications.

IV.  ASB members shall have the right to a full and clear accounting of the Association at all levels. Such accounting shall include but not be limited to the periodic reports to the membership by the appropriate fiscal officers and periodic audits by officers elected for that purpose.

The Associated Student Body offers many opportunities for developing leadership skills. Every class at DeVry has an opportunity for representation in the ASB through a class senator. Every student is welcome to attend the meeting of the ASB. Elections for the offices of ASB officers are held every two semesters. The ASB senators have boxes for communication purposes which are located in the ASB office.

Student leaders involved with the ASB and/or DeVry Clubs are invited to participate in leadership development opportunities offered at various times throughout the year. These opportunities are designed to enhance the student's leadership skills such as managing people, communication, and problem-solving. Student leaders from several clubs have a chance to network with each other and share ideas about creative events and activities at the retreats.
